If you are not into spending a lot of time travelling to a course in Prague then this course could be for you.
On a recent trip to Prague, I had the pleasure of playing Black Bridge for the first time. Located within the city limits this course is easily and quickly accessible from downtown Prague.
Designed by Bing Golf design and built in 2011 the club features 18 holes and full driving range and practice area and accommodation on site.
The course is undulating and I would recommend a buggy as distances from green to tee are long in some instances.
The Medal (White) tees measure at 5,994 metres (6,555 yards). This distance, coupled with a series of doglegs presents a solid challenge where accuracy off the tee is required.
What once was a flat piece of land has been transformed to an undulating course by moulding cored earth sourced from the construction of a road tunnel in Prague.
The rolling hills provide a clubbing challenge for golfers as well as an improved view of the surrounding area. Some distances from green to tee are considerably lengthy, therefore I’d recommend renting a buggy for your round.
Greens run at between 8 and 10 on the stimpmeter and the rough is relatively playable. The overall quality of the greens and course during our visit was excellent, bar one or two patches of disease common to most courses.
The layout of Black Bridge offers scoring opportunities to well placed tee shots, however will also challenge players who find themselves out of position around the greens or off the fairway.
Its proximity to the centre of Prague makes it a great addition to your golf itinerary and the on-site service and catering are terrific.
My thanks to @jananevrklova and @blackbridgegolfresort for the courtesy of the course.
