Royal Beroun Golf Club

Royal Beroun Golf Club

Overview & Setting

Royal Beroun Golf Club, just a 30-minute drive from Prague, is an 18-hole, par72 championship course designed by renowned Canadian architect Les Furber. The layout, measuring approximately 6,087 m, was thoughtfully built on a former military site spanning around 160 acres, preserving much of its natural contours and mature woodland. The course’s design embraces gentle hills, valleys of the Berounka and Litavka rivers, and panoramic views of the Brdy ridges and Křivoklát forests.

Feature Holes

Hole 5 Par 5 (Back Tees 518 m)

Rated the toughest on the course, this lengthy par 5 tests every facet of your game. A demanding drive, and a challenging approach to a well-guarded green make it both thrilling and unforgiving.

Hole 13 – Short Par 4, Dogleg Right, Uphill

This deceptive gem on the back nine rises sharply, turning almost 90° to the right. Precision off the tee is key, with visual lines and elevation shift creating a memorable challenge despite its modest length.

Signature Water Holes – Openers and Closers

The four irrigation lakes are not merely aesthetic—they strategically frame the opening and closing holes of each nine, offering dramatic visuals and requiring thoughtful shot placement to avoid watery trouble.

Playability & Enjoyment

Royal Beroun strikes a lovely balance between playability for casual golfers and strategic demands for seasoned players. Multiple tees—spanning roughly 5,056 m (women) to 6,087 m (men)—accommodate a wide range of abilities. The presence of 70 bunkers and 4 lakes presents a challenging risk-reward scenario, encouraging bold play but punishing miscalculations. The flowing terrain, fair routing, and varied elevation make each round feel different, with vistas that refresh and motivate as you play.

The course enjoys a strong reputation—rated approximately 4.5 overall on Top 100 Golf Courses, praised for its elegant design and seamless integration with the surrounding nature.

Clubhouse & Amenities

The clubhouse is generous and multifaceted—boasting a restaurant, hotel accommodations, and extensive wellness facilities: jacuzzi, sauna, massage room, outdoor pool, and fitness centre.
