Golf Course Day 1
Royal Beroun Golf Club
Royal Beroun Golf Club, just a 30‑minute drive from Prague, is an 18‑hole, par‑72 championship course designed by renowned Canadian architect Les Furber. The layout, measuring approximately 6,087 m, was thoughtfully built on a former military site spanning around 160 acres, preserving much of its natural contours and mature woodland
The course’s design embraces gentle hills, valleys of the Berounka and Litavka rivers, and panoramic views of the Brdy ridges and Křivoklát forests
Royal Beroun strikes a lovely balance between playability for casual golfers and strategic demands for seasoned players. Multiple tees—spanning roughly 5,056 m (women) to 6,087 m (men)—accommodate a wide range of abilities. The presence of 70 bunkers and 4 lakes challenges risk‑reward decisions, encouraging bold play but punishing miscalculations. The flowing terrain, fair routing, and varied elevation make each round feel different, with vistas that refresh and motivate as you play.
Golf Course Day 2
Karlštejn Golf Club
Golf Resort Karlštejn is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe and belongs to the most visited resorts in the Czech Republic. In 2019, more than 20,000 players played on the 27-hole course. The first 18 holes, opened in 1993, were designed by well-known Canadian architects Les Furber and Jim Eremke. After three years of construction, the first golfers could enter the new 18hole course with a unique view of the medieval Karlštejn Castle.
From its inception, the course embodied the architects’ guiding principle: “easy bogey but difficult birdie.” This design ideology aimed to make the course playable for golfers across skill levels, yet still strategically challenging.
Set against a hilly, wooded landscape rich with limestone features, full-grown trees, deep ravines, water reservoirs, and sandy bunkers, the course elegantly blends into its natural environment while offering both a visual and strategic golfing experience.
Karlštejn Golf Club quickly gained recognition on the European golf scene. In 1997, it hosted a prestigious four-day European PGA Tour event—the Czech Open (then known as the Chemapol Trophy). German golfing legend Bernhard Langer emerged as the champion with a final score of 240 (−20) shots.
Course Day 3
Konopiste Golf Club
Konopiště Golf Club is part of a larger spa and resort complex built around the elegantly restored Konopiště Château, once the residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose tragic assassination in 1914 sparked the First World War.
The first 18-hole course, the Radecký Course, opened in 2002. Designed by John Burns alongside European PGA professionals, it was laid out across gently undulating parkland and woodland, showcasing elevation changes, forested stretches, and carefully contoured greens—creating a challenging and scenic parkland experience
The resort also offers extensive training amenities, including a driving range (120 x 350 m with covered tees) and a short-game practice area (~10,000 m²)
Course Day 4
Albatross Golf Club Golf
The championship course, designed by renowned English architect Keith Preston, opened in 2009. Situated within sight of Prague, the eighteen-hole course can stand comparison with the best courses of its kind in continental Europe. Its quality and difficulty have been tested by the likes of Ernie Els, Pádraig Harrington, John Daly, Tommy Fleetwood, Francesco Molinari, and Henrik Stenson at the DP World Tour Czech Open (from 2014 to 2023). However, the Albatross was put to the test just two years after its opening when it hosted two Ladies European Tour events in 2011 and 2012.
Regarded as one of the flagship Czech courses, it has five sets of tees, measuring an impressive 7428 yards from the black tees (professional) and 5502 yards from the red tees (ladies). As a result, it poses a challenge for each category of player. Its strengths are its variety of design and, above all, the quality of the playing surfaces, which are maintained all year round.
