Black Bridge Golf Resort

Introduction & Course Identity
Located on the eastern edge of Prague in Dolní Počernice, Black Bridge is one of the city’s
most accessible modern golf facilities — a championship-standard 18-hole resort with full
training areas, accommodation, and hospitality amenities.

Course Construction & Architectural DNA
Black Bridge was opened in July 2011 and designed by BING Course Design Company Ltd.
with a parkland style set on gently rolling terrain.
The layout spans around 6,300 metres (par 72) from the tips, incorporating undulating
fairways, strategically placed water hazards and bunkers, with a balance of risk-reward holes
and scoring opportunities.

Though not the most dramatic in elevation, the subtle terrain shifts and complex green
contours — especially pronounced on mid-to-long approach shots — keep it engaging for all
levels. Greens are often noted for being fast and well-maintained, with challenging slopes
that reward precision over power.

Access from Prague
One of Black Bridge’s biggest selling points is its proximity to Prague city centre —
approximately a 15-minute drive by car or taxi.
It’s also easily reachable directly from Václav Havel Airport and well-served by major roads,
making it highly convenient for travellers or visiting golfers looking to combine city and golf
experiences.
Surroundings & Atmosphere

Black Bridge sits in a semi-urban fringe:

  • To one side is a busy highway (motorway) that runs close to several holes. This can
be audible during play and is occasionally mentioned by golfers as a distraction.
  • Nearby residential and commercial development gives it more of a suburban edge
    than a secluded countryside experience.
Despite this, many players find the wide-open layout, well-kept turf and water features help
    maintain a relaxing golf ambience.

Layout & Key Challenges

Routing & Experience
The 18-hole par-72 course flows logically with a mix of short and long holes, plenty of
variation in tee shots, and a good balance between risk and reward:
Opening holes are inviting but require careful placement to set up scoring. Mid-round sees a
blend of par 3s and reachable par 5s that tempt you to take calculated chances. Closing
stretch tests your patience and ball-striking into well-protected greens.
The course offers multiple tee markers to suit different abilities, so it’s equally enjoyable for
mid-handicap players and low handicappers looking to push their game.

Key Strategic Elements

  • Water and bunkering are positioned to catch errant tee shots and approach shots.
  • Greens are usually fast and can bite at the edges — demanding good pace control.
  • Fairways are generally generous, but missing into rough or hazards often brings
    penalty strokes.

History & Competitive Play

Black Bridge has not been widely noted for hosting major professional golf tournaments,
especially compared with traditional tour venues in mainland Europe. It’s more frequently
used for club competitions, local events and member tournaments rather than high-profile
international championships. While not a “tournament destination” on the biggest global
tours, the design and maintenance standards give it a championship feel appreciated by
competitive amateurs and visiting golfers alike.

Food & Beverage & Clubhouse Culture

The clubhouse at Black Bridge features a modern restaurant and bar set overlooking the
course.

Highlights include:

  • International cuisine with some signature dishes inspired by global golf resort menus.
  • Award recognition from the golf community as a top golf restaurant in the Czech
Republic and Slovakia (notably in Golf Digest surveys).
  • Summer barbecues and relaxed terrace dining with views over the fairways.

Value for Money

Black Bridge is generally regarded as good value, especially when compared with inland
European golf resorts.
Green fees are competitive, with lower pricing weekday vs. weekend and seasonal
variations.
Practice facilities, driving range access, and modern tees add to overall playability.
Packages including accommodation and golf can offer strong value for short stays or city-
plus-golf breaks.
While not the cheapest option in the Prague region, the combination of golf quality, facilities
and convenience makes it a strong value choice, particularly for visitors prioritising ease of
access and a full resort experience.

Who It’s Best For?
Black Bridge is ideal for:

  • Travellers wanting quick access to golf from Prague (about 15 minutes).
  • Golfers seeking a well-maintained, full-service 18-hole layout with practice facilities.
  • Those who enjoy staying in-resort with restaurant, golf academy, and weekend golf
    breaks.
  • Players of varying abilities: starters and mid-handicappers can find a fair test, while
advanced players can still be challenged mainly by the greens and water hazards.
It’s less suited to golfers chasing tournament-level challenge prestige or those who want a
rural, parkland escape free from nearby highways.
