Recently, I had the pleasure of playing 12 holes at Royal Dublin Golf Club in the company of Niall Carroll CCM , Sharon Smurfit , and Justin Lowry CMDip . Despite the chilly air, the clear blue skies made for a perfect backdrop on the famous Bull Island links — a classic Dublin winter’s day where the cold feels crisp rather than cruel.
Our team didn’t quite manage to find ourselves among the prize-winners this time, but that hardly mattered. The real victory was the chance to reconnect with old colleagues, share stories, and enjoy the simple joy of good golf in great company.
Course Conditions
Royal Dublin was presented in superb condition. The fairways were in great nick, and the greens were immaculate — smooth, consistent, and true. Even with just 12 holes played, the course reminded us all why it remains one of Ireland’s most respected links.
Culinary Highlights
Post-round, we warmed up with a bowl of delicious tomato soup before moving on to a beautifully cooked Sea Bass. But the real star of the meal was the pavlova and ice-cream dessert, topped with fresh strawberries — an indulgent finish that everyone at the table raved about.
Words of Thanks
A big thank you to General Manager Jeff Fallon (CCM) and the Captain of Royal Dublin Golf Club for hosting such a well-run and welcoming event. Their hospitality and attention to detail helped make the day truly special.
