Loreta Golf Club is situated in Pyšely, about 25 km from Prague, easily reached via the D1 highway in the direction of Benešov. The site is roughly 330 metres above sea level, set in a gently hilly countryside within the Posázaví region. Access is generally good; in moderate traffic, from central Prague it takes about 30–35 minutes.
Loreta is a championship 18-hole par-72 course. Several tee options: from the white (longest) tees players can expect maximum challenge; yellow and red tees are more forgiving and suit intermediate or higher handicap golfers. The terrain is undulating with natural features preserved — mature trees, woodland sections, hedgerows, and some wetland areas contribute to both aesthetic appeal and strategic challenge.
Feature Holes
The Par 5 6th Hole is frequently mentioned by visitors as a “signature” hole. A strong drive is rewarded. However, there is a line of bunkers that guard the more aggressive route. Because of the bunker placements and terrain, many players will take a more conservative second shot, aiming for a safe landing zone so as to set up a good angle for the approach. This hole gives a real chance at par or even birdie/eagle for long hitters who manage to avoid hazards and place their shots well. But for higher handicap players or those with less length, the hole can be a test due to its length, bunkers, and the need for careful strategic play.
The Par 4 9th Hole is another favourite. Its proximity to the clubhouse and design make it memorable. From the tee, there is a bio-zone (protected natural area) on the right side that gives a sense of risk or constraint, so many golfers aim left-of-centre or take a line that avoids drifting too much right. The second shot typically comes over or along water—there is a water feature between you and the green. The green is approached with caution, especially from about 100 meters out. Elevation, slopes or contours come into play, so getting the approach shot into the correct portion of the green is important.
Clubhouse
The clubhouse is modern, comfortable, and well-equipped. Facilities include a restaurant, changing rooms, pro shop, caddy room, and accommodation upstairs. The restaurant emphasises quality; local produce, slow food principles, and a varied menu. Views from the terrace over parts of the course (notably 18th green) add to the experience.
The club provides a large driving range, a short game area, putting-green, chipping areas, and bunkers for practice. The greens and bunkers in practice areas are well maintained, so practice sessions are useful rather than perfunctory.
Suitability for Visitors
For casual visitors, the course is forgiving from the yellow and red tees; many holes are accessible, and you do not need extreme length to enjoy a round. Good clubhouse amenities, rental gear and availability, make it visitor-friendly.
For experienced or low-handicap players there’s enough challenge from the back tees, strategic design, and natural hazards to offer a satisfying test. Holes like #6, the long par-5s, and elevation / terrain changes accentuate skill.
Overall Impression
Loreta Golf Club Pyšely ranks as one of the more impressive modern courses in Czechia: well, designed, well maintained, offering a good balance between challenge and accessibility. For golfers staying in or near Prague, it’s a highly viable option for a day-round or short golf holiday.
